Fossil Hills Lodge in the Western Cape is seeking a qualified guide to join their team.
The ideal candidate needs to be professional, ethical, great with people, hosting, hospitality, and if you’ve got some social media marketing experience that is a big plus!
The candidate should meet the below requirements:
• Must have a matric certificate
• FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF2 or willing to work towards earning the NQF2 qualification
• Basic admin skills and computer literacy
• First Aid level 1 or willing to work towards earning a First Aid level 1 qualification
• Code EC Driver’s license is advantageous
The selected candidate will be responsible for taking guests on guided hikes and walks around the area, assist with lodge and events management where necessary.

Enviro-Insight is seeking a group of assistant bird watchers to join their experts in the field as they conduct an environmental impact assessment for the construction of wind farms. Enviro-Insight CC specialises in environmental impact assessments and biodiversity surveys relying on a variety of specialists with experience in multiple disciplines. This awesome opportunity will not only help you build your birding skills but will give you valuable working experience in the conservation and guiding industry.
 
Our specialists are seeking assistance from passionate and interested people with some birding experience who thrive in a fieldwork environment. This is for people who are looking to improve their birding skills while gaining valuable work experience in a job market that may be overlooked by the average nature enthusiast.
 
Candidates should have the following:
• FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF2 or FGASA Nature Enthusiast
• Some experience in bird watching and bird identification
• Passion for wildlife and conservation
 
All assistant birders hired will receive R650 per day as well as have all their travel, accommodation and meal costs covered for the duration of their participation in the assessment.

Mask Expeditions is an adventure travel company specializing in small

Minimum requirements are the following:
• Candidate must be at least 21 years old
• Be a registered FGASA field guide or DEAT registered tour guide
• Candidate must have a valid 1st Aid certificate
• Driver’s license – C1 (code 10)
• Valid PDP
• Genuinely fit individuals who can hike and cycle if required
• Willing to travel and work under pressure of demanding clients
• Experience in camp craft and the ability to prepare meals for groups

For guides situated within the Greater Kruger’s APNR (Associated Private Nature Reserves), Tchagra Trails does not tack on extra travel costs. However, for courses and assessments outside of the APNR, guides may be subject to additional travel expenses.
