The Department of Tourism will be hosting a series of virtual lectures for the tourist guiding sector. The Covid-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on the global tourism sector, particularly the tourist guides who are usually at the forefront of the tourists’ experience.
We are aware that tourism activities have not resumed to its full extent and that guides are not being fully utilized in their areas of operation. As a result, the Department has identified this lecture series as an opportunity to keep information flowing, to stimulate interest and motivation in a subject area and ensure that such platforms are recorded and made available for guides to access at their convenience.
FGASA has collaborated with the department and will be hosting several lectures, so please get involved and register at www.tourism.gov.za.
